Satire is the use of irony, sarcasm, and ridicule,,,,
for me satire means laughing or making fun of something,,,,
for instace, an example of sarcasm would be "oh, you've arrived exactly on time" when your actually fifteen minutes late to taht certain place,,,,so i see satire as a word that makes fun of someting or somebody,,, i think is really unfortunate how people show affective examples like the one above, and it may hurt the one reseving the joke,,,,some elements of satire would be to show evidence in a piece of writing or even verbaly that demostartes that the piece has sarcasm or irony in it.

  1. Yeah, some writer might use satire to hide their feelings or their true opinions.
And it might hurt someone else’s feelings, but sometimes it might be funny for that person also, if that person doesn’t take it seriously.

  2. I agree with you, and i think the most of the people use satire in conversations. I was reading this article where it says that satire is usually meant to be funny but the real purpose of satire is not primarily humor, but it's an attack on something of which the author strongly disapproves. Interesting isn't it?
Well, I like satire books and movies because they are funny, and you don't get bored with them = )
