Well from my prespective i dont think that jim can be a minstrel becuase hes not a poet, singer or a comedian that performes from being white to black. just becasuse jim has the characteristics of a black man it does not means that he is a mistrel. many people think differently so people have many different point of veiw so i dont think he is a minstrel. I also think that jim has no double consciousness becuase so far in the book he is acting the way he is supppost to be acting.i dont see a double consciousness in jim.

You make a great point on how jim doesnt have a double consciousness by saying he is only being himself and trying to be something hes not

ReplyDeletewell i don't think Jim is a singer, but he talks a lot about his past stories and imaginary even with ghosts and all that stuff, so I think that Jim has some characteristics similar to a minstrel. But about the double consciousness he hasn't shown any signs of it, but i think he considered himself popular and loved by many people.
